Gilbert Meher are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor for a group of 40 elderly care homes in the North East and Scotland run by a premium private elderly care provider.
This role is to support the Health & Safety Department in ensuring that health and safety responsibilities are effectively discharged at all levels within the business for compliance and quality assurance purposes. You will provide H&S advice and support to group and home management as well as employees within the elderly care homes. You will compile reports on indicators of H&S performance, investigate incidents and drive improvements in incident statistics. You will also attend H&S committee meetings, undertake H&S inspections and participate in the audit process.
The role is based in the elderly care homes working directly with home managers, as well as in regional offices and occasionally home-based. As the role is regionally based you will be required to travel and have a drivers licence.

• Have current and detailed knowledge of H&S legislation and its application and impact in a multi-site healthcare context and knowledge and understanding of current best practice relating to HSG65
• Strong communication, influencing and reporting skills and able to prioritise and manage your own workload
• Ideally experienced in the delivery of H&S within the care sector and have either NEBOSH National General Certificate, NVQ4 or equivalent Occupational H&S qualification How to Apply
