Scientific degree level qualification (BSc) ideally in either chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, genetics or microbiology.

Some former sales experience is a strong advantage and familiarity with Fluid Handling (Peristaltic Pumps, Biopharma applications), benchtop laboratory equipment, fluidics consumable products and chromatography instruments and consumables is strongly preferred. Previous experience as an Account Manager or Equipment Specialist at companies such as Fisher Scientific, VWR, Scientific Lab Supplies (SLS) or similar companies, would be an advantage.

To develop and expand business in an assigned geographic territory, by the promotion and sales of products and services to new and existing end-users. The product portfolio the post holder will be responsible for Chromatography Instruments and Consumables.

Duties involve selling the benefits of the  companies’ products to existing and new customers using professional sales skills including the ability to present features and benefits, negotiate, overcome objections and close opportunities.

 

The post holder would be expected to organise their own customer appointments with an expectation of spending 60-80% of their time visiting customers. With a large customer base within the defined geographical territory, the post holder would be required to manage their time and prioritise their customer visits accordingly to deliver the growth expectations of the company.

 

The role entails cultivating and maintaining excellent business relationships with existing and potential new customers through actively seeking new business opportunities.

Act upon enquiries generated through the Company’s various promotional and marketing activities and administer and update their status on the company’s systems (CRM).

Provide activity and business feedback as required with emphasis on managing a pipeline of opportunities, providing accurate sales forecasts and engagement with the other members of the Sales teams and Product Management teams.

Feedback and effectively communicate any customer suggestions/complaints/queries via appropriate processes and procedures.

Acquire and maintain up to date product knowledge and competitive information on products/prices to fulfil customer needs, and where appropriate communicate and share information to Sales and Product Management teams.

 

Attend trade shows, seminars, exhibitions and other promotional activities on behalf of the company in the UK and overseas.
