An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the fastest growing provider of Specialist Mental Health Care in the UK. Led by a senior management team that individually have at least 20 years’ experience in Mental Health. This organisation brings a unique approach to the delivery of care. Their passion for delivering exceptional standards is demonstrated by the groups CQC reports with the majority or their Hospitals and Care Centre’s achieving a “Good” or “Outstanding” rating. Their Mission is to become Europe’s “go to” provider of Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and neurological care services and putting patients first is their most important core value that drives the business towards this goal. This forward-thinking organisation now seeks an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist for a 50-bed specialist low secure rehabilitation hospital in Nottinghamshire. This post may also be covering another service locally but this is to be confirmed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work effectively and cooperatively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a specialist service
  • Full medical responsibility for patients across the service
  • Provide a leadership and mentor approach to assist specialist staff to ensure a person-centred environment
  • Streamline and manage the admissions and discharges for the most efficient use of beds at the hospital
  • Be responsible for the supervision of reports for Mental Health Act including tribunals and managers’ hearings together with attending hearings whenever possible
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management and to embed clinical governance within the hospital
  • Have overall responsibility of patient treatment plans, whilst liaising with the multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in the East Midlands on-call Rota which is 1 in every 6 weekends

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration
  • Recent experience at a senior level General Adult Psychiatry with a passion to develop your career
  • Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team
  • In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles
  • Proven record of Continued Professional Development
  • Excellent communication skills
