Gilbert Meher are exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing e-clinical Software Company who have revolutionised the approach to Clinical Trial Preparation.

Based on a unique combination of behavioural science and transformative software, the platform can significantly improve every element of Study Start-Up – throughout simplifying regulatory process, patient recruitment, contributing to risk mitigation and overall people management.

They are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive growth in US Markets. Reporting directly to the CEO, the position will be responsible for expanding an existing pipeline of business with Biotech and CRO companies, with ultimate responsibility for developing the BD function throughout the US.

The successful individual will have strong relationships with Clinical Operations within Biotech and Pharma in the US, alongside a proven track-record selling E-Clinical or SaaS platforms (ideally at the early stage of Study Start-Up).


  • Working cross-functionally with marketing to ensure customer feedback aligns with long-term strategy.
  • Effective use of CRM to ensure effective management of the territory throughout account, activity, pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Lead on sales demonstrations of the software platform, identifying customers’ ‘pain points’ and demonstrating the subsequent solution.
  • Work alongside an Inside Sales team to qualify existing and identify new leads.
  • Adopt a solutions-focussed sales approach, working with Executive Management to close business-critical deals.
  • Build on an existing pipeline of business with growing Biotech and Contract Research Organisations within the US.
  • Use deep understanding of Clinical Operations to foster key relationships from Chief Medical Officers to Clinical Operation Directors.
  • Develop business with key partners throughout Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and CRO companies throughout the US.
  • Starting as an individual contributor, drive the expansion of the business development function within the company, ultimately building a team to support this.
  • >5 years’ Business Development or Sales experience, with a strong track-record representing multifaceted e-clinical solutions.
  • Proven experience selling Software Platforms or Services into Life Sciences markets – Pharma, Biotech, CRO, Medical Device, Diagnostics etc.
  • A strong network of contacts in the Biotech and CRO space, with an extremely in depth understanding of Clinical Operations and Study Start-Up.
  • Experienced in developing new customer relationships.
  • An excellent sales track-record of exceeding targets, with a hunger to succeed.
  • Driven to join a start-up company – excels in an autonomous and dynamic approach to work.
  • Willing to travel.
