Job Description:

We are delighted to be working closely with one of the fastest growing healthcare providers in the UK. I’m looking to appoint a HR Manager to work closely with the HR Director manage the day to day activities of the team to provide the company with first class service from the department.

Key Responsibilities

The Home Manager is responsible for ensuring a high level of clinical care and governance is provided to residents, meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements and leading the clinical team, providing strong clinical knowledge, leadership and management to ensure the highest standards are achieved in all areas of the home including relationship centered care, clinical care and dementia care.

  • Lead and direct the Human Resource team to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business
  • Develop and implement an annual agenda for HR strategy in line with the business plan.
  • Ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation, as and when they occur
  • Ensure all staff receive appraisals in accordance with company policy and monitor probationary periods
  • Employee Relations - Managing absence, disciplines, grievances, sickness etc. Measure employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement
  • Recruitment & retention - Managing talent and succession planning; taking overall responsibility for the recruitment activity and campaigns working along side the Recruitment Officer ensuring that all required checks are carried out.
  • Liaise with the Head of Finance in relation to the operation of the payroll function.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law. Provide relevant policy updates to Managers
  • Deal with complex disciplinary/grievance and HR issues.  
  • Crafting of business and people solutions
  • Managing priorities between casework and projects
  • Managing HR budgets
  • Preparing and maintaining job documentation, and company salary structure systems.
  • Develop the HR Administration function to meet the demands of the business.
  • Investigate the current HR database and functionality – make recommendations from the findings.
Experience Required

  • Superb communication skills honed in business partnering/advisory roles
  • Examples of adding value as both an individual contributor and active team member
  • Experience of dealing with Senior Executives.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the Policy board.
  • Ability to represent the Human Resource function as part of the bigger business picture
  • Confident directing HR and advising Managers on all aspects of people management and development. 
  • Demonstrable experience in managing TUPE, redundancy or other relevant HR projects
  • Set priorities for the team in line with the business requirements
  • Able to establish a creditable HR team with a team of motivated individuals
  • Strong understanding of employment law
  • CIPD
  • Background in Healthcare from the Private sector
  • A professional and commercial approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction, appropriate development and reward for individuals.
