As Maths Lead, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will develop and implement policies for Maths in line with our schoolās commitment to high-quality teaching and learning, promote the subject, its importance, and the value that it brings across the school, and have a good understanding of how well the subject is being delivered and the impact it has on pupil achievement. You will develop and review regularly the vision, aims and purpose for the subject area, establishing an effective team and hold regular meetings to keep staff informed on any developments or changes. You will be providing support to staff regarding teaching and learning, resources, and planning in the subject areaĀ and monitor teaching and learning by visiting lessons, scrutinising books, and talking with pupils to assess how well the subject area is being implemented and how well it is delivered across the school.Ā
For this role, we are looking for someone who holdsĀ QTSĀ and has expert knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly the Maths curriculum. You will understand high-quality teaching and learning strategies in the subject, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve. Ā You will have the ability to adapt teaching to meet pupilsā needs, to build effective working relationships with pupils and a knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children. With a proven ability to deliver high quality, lively and effective classroom teaching in anĀ autism-friendly way, which engages and motivates young people youāll be someone who has a passion for supporting them to learn and develop, and youāll want to make a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people. The organisation
This is an independent specialist day schoolĀ for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 16. They provide a safe learning environment for pupils living with autism (ASC), mainly Aspergerās Syndrome and higher functioning autism, who also face other challenges such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and pathological demand avoidance (PDA).
