Practice Nurse Job, near Wimbledon

Location: South West London – Near Wimbledon
Salary: Up to £52,000 FTE salary, plus NHS Pension
Contract: Permanent | Part-time 2-3 days a week

Are you an experienced Practice Nurse seeking a dynamic and supportive team environment within a well-established GP surgery? We're working on behalf of a high-performing NHS GP practice located near Wimbledon, looking to welcome a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to their multidisciplinary team.

The Practice

This modern, purpose-built surgery serves a patient list of approximately 10,000 and prides itself on delivering excellent, patient-focused care. The clinical team includes GPs, pharmacists, a first contact physiotherapist, social prescriber, nursing team (including Practice Nurses, a Nursing Associate, and HCAs), all supported by experienced admin and management staff.
You’ll be joining a forward-thinking, friendly practice with a collaborative ethos and strong focus on professional development.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Practice Nurse with a solid foundation in general practice and a special interest in managing long-term conditions such as COPD and asthma. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering a range of essential nursing duties and capable of working both autonomously and as part of a wider clinical team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Chronic disease management (particularly COPD, asthma, diabetes)
  • Cervical cytology and sexual health screening
  • Childhood and routine adult immunisations
  • Wound care, dressing changes, suture removal
  • Health promotion, patient education and lifestyle advice
  • Assisting GPs and maintaining accurate patient records in line with NMC standards

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration
  • Prior experience in general practice or primary care setting
  • Competency in chronic disease management (Asthma/COPD)
  • Cervical cytology qualification
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centred approach

Desirable:

  • Experience using EMIS Web
  • Training in diabetes management or contraception
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and participation in clinical audits
